Frequently asked questions
Why am I asked to translate my municipal registration certificate?
Because it proves where you actually live. It is required in residence and nationality procedures, in applications for benefits, in school enrolment and in tax or banking matters abroad.
Is the registration slip enough, or do I need the full certificate?
The slip (volante) is merely informative; the certificate (certificado) has evidential value and is the one authorities usually ask for. Request the certificate before ordering the translation.
Does the document expire?
Many authorities only accept certificates issued within the previous three months. Check the issue date: if it is about to expire, request a new one and have that one translated.
How do I receive the translation?
As a PDF signed and stamped by the sworn translator, ready to upload to an online government portal. The paper copy is optional and is sent by post.
